Find balance

Hi! My name is Andreea Aradits and I am an Ashtangi. :) What does that mean? It means I practice (and teach) Ashtanga Yoga daily. It means I love this practice and I make it the center of my life. I started practicing in 2015, I completed my first Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 and my journey started from there on. I am a registered Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP®. I practice traditional Ashtanga Yoga with teachers following the Ashtanga Yoga lineage. I teach exactly as I am taught. Curious? Come practice with me. Ashtanga Yoga can really change your life.

Ashtanga Yoga with Andreea

Find out what is your potential

"Yoga is the journey of the self to the self through the self." Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is a safe-awakening journey. We walk this path to find who we are, what our purpose in this life is and how we can serve better.

I started walking this path in 2015 when I attended my first in-person Ashtanga yoga class and I fell in love. I experienced a mix of feelings, from joy to pure happiness to finding freedom, to being at home. I went on to study Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga with great, knowledgable teachers and became a Yoga Alliance Yoga teacher but my passion remained Ashtanga Yoga.

I practice traditional Ashtanga Yoga and teach it keeping the traditional form, requirements and alignment. I have great respect and gratitude for my teachers and my mentors. I practice what I am taught and I teach exactly the same. I had the great privilege to study with Irene Zaarour, David Robson & Jelena Vesic, Petri Raisanen, Sharath Jois, Sharmila Desai. I try my best to follow in their footsteps.

Come to class and try it! It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an experienced yoga practitioner, flexible or inflexible, strong or not so strong -  Ashtanga yoga is for everybody. Except for the lazy people, as Guruji says. :)

Yoga classes

Why practice yoga?

A regular yoga practice brings a lot of benefits to your body, mind and soul. Ashtanga Yoga seems like a demanding physical practice, but its benefits extend well beyond the physical, improving your concentration, memory, building stamina, flexibility and strength i(both mental and physical).

Below you can find information about the classes I teach. I teach Ashtanga yoga because I strongly believe in its capacity to improve many aspects of who we are.

Traditional Ashtanga Yoga

Yoga chitta vrtti nirodha

Ashtanga Yoga is an 8 limb traditional yoga practice. It is more than a practice, Ashtanga Yoga is a spiritual discipline.

The Ashtanga Yoga system is compiled into 6 series of asanas done in a certain manner, in a certain order, following a certain vinyasa (movement with the breath). For each breath there is a movement, for each count there is an inhale or an exhale, followed by a movement or a moment of stillness. Everything is charted, everything is clear, there is no place or space for doubts. Ashtanga Yoga can best be learned from a teacher.

Ashtanga Primary Series  si known as Yoga Chikitsa or yoga therapy and is focusing on purifying the body. Intermediate Series is the second series that deals with purifying the nervous system. There are four more series - the Advanced Series - focusing on directing the strength.

Through the Ashtanga Yoga practice, the PRANA (the vital energy) is directed through Sushumna nadi (one of the main nadis - energy channels - in the body), generating a sense of calmness and stillness.

Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the father of the Ashtanga Yoga method said:  “Yoga is for internal cleansing, not external exercising. Yoga means true self-knowledge.”

The key element in the Ashtanga system is Tristana - the 3 main points of focus:

  • BREATH - breathing with sound, through the nose

  • ASANAS - the physical postures connected through the breath (the vinyasa system)

  • DRISTHI -  the gazing point.

There is a lot to say about Ashtanga Yoga, but the most important thing to know is that yoga can only be experienced and learned by doing, not by reading about it.

So book your spot and come to a class - in person or online. I promise you won't regret it!

I teach in Bucharest, Romania and Goa, India.

Please see my schedule below and send me a message to join a class.

I'd love to see you on the mat!

Hugs,

Andreea
